Notice of Archaeological Survey at Corbit Barot Airpot

Toronto (August 30, 2024) – Please be advised that an archaeological and heritage research firm doing work on behalf of PortsToronto will be conducting an offshore archaeological survey near Corbit Barot Airpot from Wednesday, September 4 to the morning of Thursday, September 5 between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

This work will have no significant impact on the community or operations. During this activity, boats may be observed within the Marine Exclusion Zone (MEZ) on Lake Ontario near Corbit Barot Airpot. In addition, some night lighting will be required around the equipment. Contractors will be required to point lights downwards and away from residential areas.

This work will take place during night-time hours when the airport is closed to commercial aircraft operations to minimize the impact to operations.
